Albuquerque Turkey

Materials

  • 2 roasted New Mexico hatch chile or a few spoonfuls of jarred hatch chile
  • 3 - 5 slices smoked turkey
  • 1 tbsp mayo
  • ½ cup monterey jack cheese shredded
  • 1 - 2 tomato slices
  • ½ avocado
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • First, butter each slice of bread and lay butter side down on a cutting board. Apply mayo to one side of the bread slices. Top with turkey, cheese, green chile, and tomato slices. On the other slice of bread, add sliced avocado. Top with salt and pepper. Close the sandwich.
  • Heat a skillet over medium low heat and add sandwich. Grill until one side is golden brown and then flip. Cover with a lid so cheese can melt. Cook until it’s golden brown.
