Make soft, gooey, deliciously sweet Cinnamon Rolls that your whole family will love. This recipe includes 1 rise making it perfect for beginner bakers.
Whisk the flour, sugar, and salt together in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
Combine the milk and butter. Microwave or use the stove to heat up until butter is melted and it's warm to the touch. Next, whisk yeast in until dissolved.
Pour mixture into dry ingredients and add your egg. Combine with a rubber spatula and mix until a soft dough forms.
Lightly flour a surface and transfer the dough. Flour your hands and knead the dough for 3 - 5 minutes until it has become smooth. Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover loosely with a towel, and rest for 10 minutes.
Rollin Time
While dough is resting, mix together the cinnamon and brown sugar. After 10 minutes, roll the dough out into a 14 x 8 rectangle.
Spread the softened butter on top and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture all over the dough. Roll up the dough into a 14 inch log. Cut into 10 - 12 even rolls. Arrange into a lightly greased 9 or 10 inch pan.
Cover the pan with aluminum foil or a kitchen towel and let rise for 60 - 90 minutes in a relatively warm environment or until they double in size.
Bake and Ice
Preheat oven to 375 ℉. Bake for 25 - 28 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and allow to cool while you make the icing.
Use a rubber spatula to combine the cream cheese, butter, confectioner's sugar, and vanilla.
Place globs of icing onto the slightly cooled rolls, spreading evenly. Serve and enjoy.
