This simple Eastern NC Barbecue sauce is vinegar based and perfect for mopping onto pork during the smoking process as well as dunking into and pouring over the finished pork.

- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- ½ cup water
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the Sauce
In a small sauce pan, bring the water and vinegars to a low boil. Whisk in the remaining ingredients until brown sugar and salt have dissolved.
Pour into a glass container and let cool. Use some to mop onto the pork while cooking and the rest to ladle onto smoked pork while serving.
