- 1 9 inch deep dish pie crust
- 1 cup molasses
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- ¾ cup hot water
- 1 egg beaten
- 1½ cup flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup butter
Preheat oven to 400 ℉. Carefully lay the pie dough into the pie pin, pushing into the edges.
Mix molasses, baking soda, and hot water together in a medium bowl. Whisk in beaten egg. Pour mixture into deep dish pie shell.
Combine flour and brown sugar in a separate bowl. Cut in butter until it's crumbly. Sprinkle mixture on top of pie.
Bake for 15 minutes. Lower heat to 350 ℉ and bake for another 30 minutes.
