Materials

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 3 slices oven roasted turkey breast
  • 1 small tart apple thinly sliced
  • 3 - 4 slices white cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • optional: pickled red onion
  • 2 tbsp grainy mustard
  • 1 tsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Mix together the maple syrup and mustard. Taste and add more maple syrup if desired.
  • Slather one side of each piece of bread with butter. On the other side, generously lather with the maple syrup mustard.
  • Add cheese, turkey, apple, and pickled onions (if using). Top with other slice of bread.
  • Heat a skillet over medium and carefully add the sandwich. Toast until brown one on side then flip. It’s done when both sides are golden brown.
  • Remove from the heat and slice down the middle.
